Chocolate cake or loaf cake — with coffee?
One ingredient that's often used alongside chocolate is coffee, since it really brings out its flavor. They're excellent partners, and there's a very good reason for it.
The production of chocolate and coffee is much more similar than most people think. Coffee and chocolate come from similar latitudes, both are seeds of a tropical fruit that are fermented and dried at their place of origin, and both are also roasted to bring out their flavors.
So the next time you make something with chocolate — whether it's a loaf cake, a muffin, a cake, or anything else — go ahead and replace part of a liquid ingredient (like milk or water) with a shot of espresso. You'll notice how spectacular it tastes combined with chocolate.
