Carob Loaf Cake
Tired of the classic chocolate loaf cake? Try making this carob one — a very natural and healthy ingredient that, believe it or not, tastes quite a lot like cocoa.

Step by step
- 1
Butter and flour the loaf pan, and set it aside in the freezer.

- 2
In a bowl, add the room-temperature butter and the brown sugar, and beat until you reach a smooth, creamy texture.

- 3
Add both eggs, beating after each one — we do this to keep the mixture from breaking. Add vanilla extract.

- 4
Add the flour, the baking powder and the carob flour, preferably through a sieve. Beat until fully incorporated.

- 5
If the mixture is too dry, you can add milk until it becomes a very thick, pourable batter.

- 6
Pour into the pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 40 minutes.
