Place a pot on the stove over medium heat and pour in a bit of oil. Spread it around and add the popcorn kernels (use only enough kernels so they don't pile up on top of each other).

Cover and let them cook. Every minute or so, give the pot a gentle shake. When the popping stops for more than five seconds, uncover and take out the popcorn.

To flavor it, you can add caramel sauce, strawberry sauce or whichever one you prefer.
