Pour a small splash of milk over the cornstarch and stir until it's fully dissolved.

Add the sugar and the dulce de leche to the rest of the milk. Mix. Then microwave it so it dissolves more easily.

After taking it out of the microwave, use a whisk and beat until the dulce de leche is fully incorporated (this can take a good while).

Once the dulce de leche and the sugar are well incorporated, add the dissolved cornstarch and mix.

Pour the mixture into a pot over medium heat and stir constantly until it comes to a boil.

Once it has boiled and thickened, keep stirring over low heat for one minute.

Transfer to serving dishes and let rest at room temperature for an hour. Then move to the refrigerator.
