    Set a pot over medium heat and pour in a layer of sugar. As it melts, keep adding more sugar on top until you've used it all. Start stirring so all the sugar dissolves. Be careful not to have the heat too high so it doesn't burn.

    Add the cream while stirring, until it starts to thicken. Remove from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
