Double Boiler Chocolate
One of the most classic ways to melt chocolate — in a water bath (bain-marie) — so you run less risk of burning it and can bring it to just the right temperature.
Ingredients
Check off what you already have.
Step by step
- 1
Chop the chocolate into small pieces.

- 2
Heat water in a pot until it comes to a boil, then lower the heat to the lowest setting or turn it off.

- 3
Place a metal bowl on top with the chocolate and stir until it's melted, then remove. (The metal bowl must not come into contact with the water.)
